Microautoradiography techniques

Microautoradiography, or MARG, is a high-resolution imaging technique used to qualitatively resolve the localization of radiolabeled compounds at the cellular level in a histological preparation from an animal model.

MARG provides a qualitative assessment of the relative distribution of drug-related radioactivity at the subcellular level.

The technique allows the direct visualization of the stained tissue with the co-localization of the radioactivity, which through nuclear emulsion staining allows radioactivity to be visualized as silver grains.
