Laparoscopy is a surgical diagnostic procedure employed to examine the organs inside the abdomen. The procedure, otherwise known as diagnostic laparoscopy, keyhole surgery or minimally invasive surgery is used to remove tissue samples for biopsy. Most frequently, it is used within gynecology, gastroenterology and urology sectors.

Serial biopsy: The laproscopic cup biopsy procedure yields two ~80mg samples during a single collection with serial collections performed out to six times, depending on duration between collections.
