Blood collection techniques (DART, NHP)

When conducting developmental and reproductive toxicology (DART) studies in NHPs, blood tests can be performed on both adult females and neonates. Blood may be drawn from the adults from day 20 of gestation, and then from the neonates from day 1, usually from the vena cephalica antebrachii, vena saphena or vena femoralis. Collections can be performed throughout the entire gestation and lactation phase.

Collected blood can be used for clinical pathology, ADA evaluations, hormones and biomarker evaluations.
