Alpha-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (a-HBDH) analysis

Alpha-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase is a marker of cell death reflecting red blood cell, myocardial, liver and renal damage. It occurs in higher levels in heart muscle and can be used to aid the diagnosis of myocardial infarction. It also is expressed in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes and is associated with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) which increases the risk of perinatal mortality and morbidity.

This is an automated, non-standard assay to support nonclinical research. Please contact us for site-specific details in regards to research model capabilities.
